Free & cheap in Bryan–College Station
Three kids and a museum ticket each adds up fast. This is the short list of what costs nothing, what’s free on the calendar this week, and the weekday meal deals worth knowing.

The Bryan + College Station Public Library branches (story times, makerspace, a card is free for residents), the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library grounds, and the city parks and splash pads in both towns. See every free place we list. Rock hunting costs nothing. Members of Bryan College Station *ROCKS*, a public Facebook group of several thousand, paint rocks and hide them around town — by a shop’s front door, at a gas pump — for someone else to find. Found one? Snap a picture, share it with the group if you like, and say where you found it; then keep the rock or hide it again. To join in, paint your own with acrylics or markers, write “Bryan College Station Rocks!” on the back, and seal it against the weather before you hide it. It makes a good rainy-afternoon project.
