Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site

Where Texas declared independence in 1836. Independence Hall, the Star of the Republic Museum and Barrington Living History Farm sit inside a large park on the Brazos, so it works as a history trip or a nature day. School programmes run about $5 a student with one free teacher per ten students; homeschool groups use the same school-tour request and choose the mixed-age option. A Homeschool Day runs twice a year, autumn and spring.
