Voices for Children, CASA of the Brazos Valley

The local Court Appointed Special Advocates program for children in foster care in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, and Madison counties. Screened volunteers are trained and then appointed by a judge to stay with a child's case until there is a safe, permanent home.

How to help

A CASA volunteer must be at least 21, pass a background check, finish 30 hours of training plus 3 hours of court observation, and stay with a case for at least 18 months at about 10 to 15 hours a month. The first step is a one-hour information session. Giving money is the other published way to help.
