Sleep in Heavenly Peace -- College Station
The College Station chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a volunteer-run national nonprofit. Volunteers build twin and bunk beds and deliver them, assembled, with a new mattress, pillow, and bedding, at no cost to children ages 3 to 17 in Brazos County who are sleeping on a floor, couch, air mattress, or a shared bed.
How to help
Sign up on the chapter page for a sanding, build, or delivery day -- no woodworking experience needed, and the chapter brings the tools and lumber. New twin sheets, pillows, and comforters can go through the chapter's Amazon wishlist or to the Lowe's drop-off at 4451 Texas 6 Frontage Rd in College Station. Give money through the chapter's own donate link so the gift is designated to TX-College Station.
If you need help
A parent or legal guardian, or a school or social-service referral, can request a bed at shpbeds.org/apply. The child must be 3 to 17, sleeping on a floor, sofa, air mattress, or a shared bed, in a home with room for a twin bed. Beds go out as supplies allow, and an application is not a guarantee.
