Facilitator : Tahereh Boroughani, Center for Teaching Excellence Description : Eighth in a series of workshops for graduate students, post-docs, and visiting scholars whose primary language is not English. This interactive workshop brings Aggie undergraduate students together with international grad students to discuss the classroom culture at Texas A&M and in other countries. Each group gains a better understanding of the other, leading to more effective communication in the classroom, lab, and office hours. Learning Outcomes : Participants will be able to… 1. Make small talk with someone from another culture. 2. Articulate the educational culture in universities in your home country. 3. Discover something new about another culture.
