Cast a line and discover the joy of fishing in this hands-on class. In partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife, learn fishing knots, casting, freshwater fish identification and more. All equipment, bait and educational materials are provided. Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is through Texas Parks and Wildlife. The class will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Gary Halter Nature Center. The program is for ages 6 and older and is free. Registration ends Friday, Oct. 16. Spots are limited. Optional catch-and-release fishing will be available at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park, and no fishing license is required.
