Learn firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics, and wildlife conservation in a course for novice or young hunters Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 a.m-5 p.m. at the Gary Halter Nature Center. Texas law requires anyone ages 9 and older to complete the course to hunt legally, and a parent or guardian must accompany those under 13. Completion provides the certification needed to hunt in Texas. The cost is $15 per person, and registration is required by Oct. 2.
