Enjoy lunch while learning about our community’s history. Lectures are presented in partnership with the College Station Historic Preservation Committee. Attendance is free, and lunch is $10 for residents or $12 for non-residents. A limited number of meals will be available at the door for $12. Schedule Aug. 19 • “Aggieland Through Time: Mapping the Campus Past” by Ian Muise and Audrey Lloyd, historian and sesquicentennial archival research specialist at Cushing Memorial Library and Archives. Sept. 16 • “And Then There Were Maggie's” by Linda Harvell, Chairperson of the Historic Preservation Committee and former City Councilwoman Oct. 21 • “Millican Massacre of 1868” by Amy Earhart, associate professor of English and Africana studies faculty. Nov. 18 • “College Station: A City Founded with Parks” by Steve Beachy, former College Station Parks and Recreation director, and Dr. John Crompton, Texas A&M professor in the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences. Dec. 9 • “Sweet Strings on the Brazos” by Nicki George, musician with Sweet Strings on the Brazos. Registration ends the Friday before each luncheon.
