SUMMARY:ELP Journal Club: A Conversation Circle for Text-Based Discussions
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator : Michele Vick\, Center for Teaching Excellence Des
 cription : Journal Club is designed for current and future TAs\, graduate 
 students\, and visiting scholars to gain confidence in reading aloud and l
 eading and participating in classroom discussions about texts. Each week\,
  participants will receive a short article two days ahead of time to prepa
 re for our discussions. This workshop will focus on improving pronunciatio
 n\, expanding vocabulary\, and developing effective discussion strategies.
  Participants will also have the opportunity to lead discussions\, enhanci
 ng their confidence and skills in academic settings. Learning Outcomes : P
 articipants will be able to: 1. Read aloud with comprehensible pronunciati
 on and increased confidence. 2.Use key terms from academic texts accuratel
 y in discussions. 3. Effectively facilitate group discussions about variou
 s texts. 4. Employ turn-taking skills when participating in discussions.\n
