Closing the Gap of Mental and Medical Care Children navigating medical care face challenges that extend beyond diagnosis and treatment. This one-hour session explores the integration of medical and mental health care. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: (1) recognize the importance of supporting social developmental throughout a child's medical treatment; (2) identify opportunities to address developmental needs both inside and outside the medical care environment; and (3) integrate age-specific medical competencies with social developmental principles. This session is intended for medical professionals who work with children or parents of children who are navigating medical care.
