New Victory Temple (NVT) welcomes residents from across Bryan–College Station for an afternoon tea during its 3rd annual CommuniTea, an event to promote community connection and support. The CommuniTea offers guests a warm, family friendly afternoon tea experience while highlighting New Victory Temple’s ongoing work in tutoring and community gardening, two initiatives central to the church’s mission of strengthening local families. This is an authentic afternoon tea experience featuring fine china and a tiered tower of sandwiches, scones, and savory and sweet treats. This year’s event will also feature a special recognition: Cheletia Johnson will receive the NVT CommuniTea Servant’s Heart Award for her dedication to literacy, tutoring, and youth development. Her work at Southgate—where she supports reading and tutoring efforts—reflects the spirit of service the CommuniTea aims to celebrate. NVT invites the entire community to join in celebrating service to others, enjoying light afternoon tea refreshments, and learning more about programs that uplift children, families, and neighborhoods. While the teas and treats will be fancy, your attire does not have to be. We would rather you be there, than worry about what you wear. To purchase tickets: https://nvtchurch.org/communitea https://nvtchurch.org/communitea . Proceeds from this event and additional donations will be used to support NVT’s community programs: a tutoring program at Southgate and the community garden which provides fresh vegetables to seniors and residents of the McCullough District and surrounding community. Come experience “My Cup Overflows” and help NVT pour into the Bryan-College Station community and honor the commitment of Mrs. Cheletia Johnson to strengthen our community, one student and one family at a time. If you want to attend but your budget limits your ability to purchase a ticket, you may request a sponsored ticket. If your budget allows you to sponsor a ticket for another community neighbor, your donation is welcome. The registration site also provides an opportunity for donations to support NVT's tutoring program at Southgate (College Station, TX) and our community garden initiative that provides fresh vegetables for families in the McCullough District.
