National Night Out encourages residents to step outside to mingle with their neighbors and meet local law enforcement officers, who will visit neighborhood block parties throughout the evening. Want Bryan police officers to visit your block party? Register by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. Register How to set up a block party: Solicit help to set up a block party from a friend or neighbor. If you want to block a street off make sure to get the proper permits from the city. Invite all your neighbors and solicit their help. Decide what kind of food you would like. Snacks, Pot Luck, someone grilling, or catered. Decide if you want music. Radio, DJ, etc. (make sure not to violate the noise ordinance) If you registered your National Night Out block party online, the police department will come visit with you and bring you a goodie bag.
