Why should humans have all the fun? Grab your four-legged friend for the annual Doggie Poolooza event! Doggie Poolooza is a fun-filled, community-centered event hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department designed to celebrate our furry friends and support local adoption agencies. This event offers a variety of engaging activities for dogs of all sizes and their owners, ensuring a memorable day for all participants. Admission is free! Activities Include: Canine Swimming: Enjoy swimming at Henderson Harbor, with tennis balls available for added fun. Whipped Cream Art: Create adorable and delicious whipped cream masterpieces. Dig-a-Toy: Dig for toys buried in the sand at the sand volleyball court for exercise and entertainment. Free-Play: Run and play freely in designated areas on two baseball fields for small, medium, and large dogs. Pup Cup Station: Cool off around the pool with a cup of whipped cream, provided by Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. Photo Booth: Patrons will have the opportunity to have a keepsake of the event. Dog Costume Contest: Patrons will have the opportunity to dress up their dogs to complete for the best costume. Event Rules: Proof of current Brazos County tag and rabies vaccination is required for entry. Registrations available in person at Henderson Park. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting. Aggressive dogs, dogs in heat, and those under four months old will be asked to leave. Collars must remain on while swimming. Dogs must be monitored by their handler at all times. Handlers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Handlers are limited to two dogs. Clean up after your dogs. Bags will be provided. People are not allowed in the pool with dogs. Bryan Animal Center and Zoi’s Animal Rescue will be on-site with dogs available for adoption.
