Pomraning performed an asymptotic analysis of forward-peaked scattering in the Fokker-Planck (FP) limit and demonstrated that Henyey-Greenstein (HG) scattering does not limit to the FP scattering operator because the large-angle scattering component is too strong. Larsen later investigated HG scattering in this same limit and showed that it converged to a peudodifferential operator. Here we revisit the HG cross section in the forward-peaked FP scattering limit, reproduce Larsen’s result using a much simpler analysis, and express it in a different form.
